Brick Constituents as a Percentage (weigh basis)
Brick is made up of six major components. The following is a breakdown of the general percentages of these ingredients in brick:

The two most important ingredients in brick clay are silica (sand) and alumina (clay). It gains plasticity when mixed with water in the proper proportions. The plastic mass is easily moldable and dryable. It should not be subjected to cracking, shrinkage, or warping.
